Windshield HUD
HUD Speedometer for iPhone
Roadmeter has a HUD mode that mirrors the speed readout so it reads correctly as a reflection in your windshield. Put the iPhone flat on the dashboard at night and your speed floats in your line of sight. Night mode dims the dial so it doesn't dazzle; daylight mode raises contrast. HUD mode is free.
01 What you get
- Mirrored readout sized for a windshield reflection
- Night and daylight modes, chosen manually
- The mirrored digits turn red when you pass your limit
- Free — no subscription needed
02 What it doesn't do
- A phone reflection is faint in daylight; HUD mode is at its best after dark with screen brightness high and a clean windshield.
- Some places restrict anything reflected in the driver's field of view — check your local rules.
03 Questions
How do I use Roadmeter as a HUD?
Switch on HUD mode, set the iPhone flat on the dashboard below the windshield, and turn brightness up. The mirrored digits reflect the right way round.
Is the HUD free?
Yes. HUD mode is part of the free app.
