Roadmeter reads lower than my dashboard

That is the normal result, not a fault. Car manufacturers are required to build dashboards that never under-read, so most read a few percent high — and more after a tire or wheel-size change. GPS speed is usually the closer figure.

If you want the two to agree, open Settings → Calibration check and set an offset. That adjusts what Roadmeter displays; it does not change what the GPS measured.

The number jumps or lags

GPS needs a clear view of the sky. Tunnels, parking structures, urban canyons, and heavy tree cover all degrade it. It also takes a few seconds to settle after you start moving. If it stays unstable in open sky, force-quit Roadmeter and reopen it to reacquire a fix.

It says no GPS signal

Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services is on, and that Roadmeter is allowed. Airplane mode does not disable GPS, but a Low Power Mode session can slow the fix. Indoors, expect nothing.

Does Roadmeter know the limit on my road?

No. Roadmeter has no map database of posted limits and does not read signs. Every limit is one you set yourself, from a preset or by typing it in. The posted sign is always the authority.

I set a limit but hear nothing

Check the alert type in Settings — sound, voice, and haptic are separate switches. Then check your ring/silent switch, your volume, and whether a Focus mode or connected car audio is intercepting playback.

Recording stopped when I locked my phone

Background recording needs “Always” location access. Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Roadmeter → Always. With “While Using”, iOS suspends the recording when Roadmeter leaves the screen.

I can only save one trip

That is the free tier. One saved trip is free; Roadmeter Pro removes the limit.

Getting my data out

Open a trip and export it as GPX or CSV. GPX carries the route and works with mapping and fitness tools; CSV is a plain table for spreadsheets and mileage logs. The file goes wherever you send it through the iOS share sheet.

The reflection is too dim or too bright

HUD works best at night with a clean windshield and screen brightness high. Night mode dims the dial so it does not blind you; daylight mode raises contrast for direct sun. Both are manual — pick the one that fits the drive.

Is it legal to use a HUD reflection?

That depends on where you drive, and it is your responsibility to check. Some jurisdictions restrict anything mounted or reflected in the driver's field of view.

I paid but Pro is locked

Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, email us the App Store transaction ID from your receipt.

Cancelling a subscription

Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Pro stays active until the period you paid for runs out. We cannot cancel it for you — only Apple can.
